Still hoping to see a photo of this theatre. Hard to believe that scenic Chagrin Falls once had a neighborhood theatre that the residents have let be lost to the ages.
The card shows it has a red brick building, but the photos posted above shows the brick having been painted a white or light blue color. Such a shame to lose this one for a PARKING LOT? Shameful Chagrin!
I just received a lovely Christmas card depicting this former theatre. It was a lovely theatre and one that should have been preserved for future generations!
From Boxoffice Magazine, November 28, 1977: “There will be five benefit showings of ‘The Gathering’ at the Falls Theatre in Chagrin Falls, where it was filmed.”
And from Boxoffice of August 27, 1979: “The Chagrin Falls Theatre has been torn down to make way for a new office building in Chagrin Falls….”
The town was not left without an indoor theater when the Falls was demolished, though. A 248-seat house called the Tanglewood Cinema had opened in the Tanglewood Shopping Center in 1973.
Still would like to see a photo(s)! And I had forgotten that it was torn down for a PARKING LOT!
I have neighbors from Chagrin Falls so will have to ask them of their Falls Theatre memories!
Some locals remember:

We’d all like to see a photo of the Falls.
I grew up in Chagrin Falls and would love an old photo of the Falls. I have a brick from the building when it was torn down. If anyone knows where I can locate a photo I would appreciate it.
Thanks

We went from my home in Bedford to Chagrin Falls to Roller Skate, and I remember that cute little theatre-and did visit it once in the mid ‘70s.
“Torn down for a parking lot”. Same old story…..a parking lot! When will this insanity end?
ff514ny: We have friends who live in Chagrin Falls so I must ask them about their Falls memories. Keep that marquee print…wish my hometown theatre had done a print of it’s last movie!
The last movie shown was LOVE AT FIRST BITE with George Hamilton.
A print of the marguee with the movie title was given out for the
occasion which I still have.
