Pullman Village Center Cinemas

Located at 1085 SE Bishop Boulevard in Pullman, the Village Centre Cinemas has eight auditoriums, each with stadium-style seating, wall-to-wall screens and high-backed luxury seats with fold-up, cup holder armrests.

The 28,000 sq. ft. structure boasts a 30 ft. ceiling in its 4,600 sq. ft. lobby. The building was constructed using a new type of foam block and concrete wall system that allows for excellent sound quality and insulation.

Local developer Duane Brelsford spearheaded the construction of the Village Centre. Landowner Dr. Wenzel Leff also took an active part in the design and construction of the theatre. Design West Architects of Pullman designed the building, and Brown Construction of Spokane was the contractor for the project. The Village Center Cinemas opened November 5, 2003.

The theatre lobby features a 50-foot concession stand that will display a wide variety of items. Kettle corn along with the traditional style of movie popcorn, Eisenberg Gourmet hot dogs, ICEE frozen treats, Mrs. Good Cookie brand fresh baked cookies, nachos and an assortment of candies will all be available.

The dominant feature of the lobby is a 28-foot Movie Icon Mural created by Pullman native Jeffrey Cook. The mural is done in a photo collage technique and depicts the first 100 years of movies with a parade of superstars. The Village Centre features a multipurpose room that is available for private birthday parties or get-togethers.

The Village Centre is operated by Best Theatres Inc. Best Theatres also operates the Audian and Cordova Theatres in downtown Pullman. It was closed on September 5, 2024. One of the final movies screened was Bill Skarsgard in “The Crow”.

This is one of three Village Centre Cinemas locations designed for the same client by Design West Architects. The other two are in Spokane and in Lewiston, Idaho.

Design West’s website features two photos of one of the projects. Though the page does not specify which of the three locations is depicted, the exterior photo certainly resembles the Pullman location as depicted on this web page at the developer’s website.

There are also a few small pictures at pullmanmovies.com, which appears to be this theatre’s official website. Currently, there doesn’t appear to be a main website for the operating company, Best Theatres Inc.
