Opening film on March 19, 1953 was “Ride the Man Down.” Appears to have closed for the season on September 2, 1959 with “Horrors of the Black Museum.” They do not have appeared to have opened in 1960.

Billboard, May 23, 1953: “Mr. and Mrs. George Reed have opened the new 250-car capacity Antelope Drive-In Theater at Abernathy, Tex. They also operate the Nue-Vue Theater there.”

The drive-in sat on the SOUTH side of Abernathy, not the north. While the address is correct, Google is having a tough time mapping it. A 1978 aerial photo shows the drive-in to be demolished.

Today, the St. Isadore Catholic Church sits on the property. You can still see the faint outline of the ramps on the west side of the property.
