Located in the Royal Air Force camp, Henlow, Bedfordshire. The Astra Cinema was opened in the early-1930’s and until the beginning of World War II in September 1939 the general public were allowed inside to see the films on offer. It was equipped with an AWH sound system.

After the war it was used by RAF personel only and continued until the 1960’s when it was converted into a television & snooker room.
