Located in Trim, County Meath. The Royal Cinema opened on 3rd September 1948 with “Escape” starring Rex Harrison and was originally run by James Garry. It had 500 seats and was equipped with a Walterdaw sound system. It continued with a mix of plays and films but struggled after 1973 with a variety contest having had to be abandoned owing to a lack of support. The closing date of the cinema is unclear, but the property is now occupied by a hardware shop.
