Located in Gort, County Galway. The Central Cinema was operating by 1944 and was regularly advertising films until 1963 although still screening special films into the early-1970’s. Variety shows and concerts were also held in the 1960’s. It was equipped with an Electra, later Western Electric(WE), sound system and had 260 seats. It was owned by Christy Fennessy from the 1960’s onwards who is believed to have passed away in 2003. The building appears to have been demolished.
