The 700-seat Valley River Twin was built by Moyer Theatres opening on April 21, 1971, it was later operated by Western Amusement and then Moyer Theatres again, closing in 1990 as a four screen theatre. It featured a common lobby servicing both screens and the latest automation equipment by North American Philips. The Portland, Oregon firm of Campbell, Yost & Partners did the design. The theater had a rather unique design with earth from the excavation surrounding the walls of the building forming an area for decorative plantings.
It was taken over by Act III Theatres and renovated in 1995, reopening as an eight screen Cinema World 8. The largest screen had 480 seats. Last operated by Regal, it was closed March 4, 2007 and was demolished in 2008.

Grand opening ad:
The Valley River Twin was a separate building from the Cinema World.
Are we for certain that the Valley River Twin was a separate building? If you look at historicaerials.com, the right-most portion the 8-plex was there in 1982 and looks to be the size/shape of the twin.
If you are certain, why put the grand opening ad the tin on the Cinema World 8 page and not create a new one for Valley River Twin?
