Located in Kilmacthomas, County Waterford. The Rainbow Cinema was the idea of Eddie Hill and was situated in the Rainbow Hall, which was used for dancing and general entertainment. It was opened by 1945, but was first listed in the Kine Year Book of 1950 although Hill had already been showing films elsewhere in the town. It had 320 seats and an RCA sound system installed.

By the early-1960’s it was run by Michael Barron, but attendances fell below 100 people and the cinema closed on 28th July 1968 with Robert Vaughn in “The Venetian Affair”. The hall was then used as a community centre but was demolished and replaced with a new one.
