North Austin Drive-In

This opened on November 18, 1940 with Joe Penner in “Life of the Party”. It was the first drive-in in the area and was operated by Eddie Joseph and Yank Theatres. It was renamed simply Drive-In in 1941 and closed down in 1942. It had a reopening on March 12, 1943 and renamed North Austin Drive-In on June 25, 1947. It closed down in 1960.

Opened with “The Life of tne party”. 450 cars. Closed in 1960. Site is now Centercross Plaza and Walgreens.
