The Venture Theatre was opened on October 13, 1972 with the world premiere of “A Story of the Bizarre”. It was a “Members-only” adult theatre, often advertising “Ladies always free with escort”. It was a short lived venture and in 1973 was converted into a recording studio for the Beach Boys' Brother Records label until 1979.
