The Layton Drive-In grand opening was advertised in The Ogden Standard July 12, 1950, with John Wayne in “She Wore a Yellow Ribbon". The main crossroads given were Hill Field Road and Highway 91. An early map showed it as being off Easy Street and coincidence or not their advertisement read “large Easy View Screen”.
The Davis-Drive-In had previously opened April 20, 1950 about a mile-and-a-half away. The Layton Drive-In advertisements were small print advertisements while the Davis Drive-In advertised large, with the standard movie artwork.
The 1954 season began in April ‘Under New Management’ by N. Pratt Smith and later in the month advertised outdoor live wrestling with both men and ladies.
By the end of the 1955 season, facing competition from five other advertised drive-ins, the theatre apparently closed and did not open in 1956.

A more accurate address for this theater is 900 N 100 W, Layton, UT 84041. This points directly to the entrance road. The address above is incorrect. The drive in itself now consists of Young Buick on N. Main Street and Interstate 15.
