This short-lived theatre operated in what was considered Willow Springs becoming Greggton in 1932-3. (Greggton became unincorporated and the neighborhood is considered part of Longview.)
The Avalon Theatre opened in 1932 but was destroyed by fire along with four other businesses and three residences in an April 4, 1933 explosion and fire. Its competitor, the Ritz Theatre would burn down in 1942 leaving the neighborhood theatre-less.
