The Mermaid County Wicklow Arts Centre, launched in August 2002, is a purpose-built theatre with an ambitious programme of performance including innovative dance, spellbinding theatre, cutting edge music and art-house cinema. There are also exhibitions and workshops to be had at the venue. Films are screened once a week and, at the time of writing, are the only regular film presentations in the town.
