Located in the town of Leiden midway to the north of Theatre Hague and south of Amsterdam. The Familiebioscoop was opened 29th October 1914. Seating was provided in orchestra and two balcony levels. It was re-named Thalia Bioscoop en Variete Theater in 1915. Re-named Rejo Theater in 1920. Re-named City Theater in 1925. Re-named Roxy Theater in 1934 and Niewe Roxy Theater in 1936. In 1938 it became the Rex Theater and operated with this name until 1991.
In 1991 it became an adult cinema named Cultureel Centrum de X which closed in 1995. The building is now in retail use.
