Located in Chelmsford, Essex, the Everyman opened on 16th December 2016. The auditoriums have Sony 4K projection and Dolby Surround 7.1. Screens 1 and 2 have RealD 3D capability. Seating capacities are: 1:114, 2:74, 3:82, 4:58 (with a small stage) and 5:60. A sixth screen (with 29 seats) is available for private hire as well as general cinema use. That screen has NEC projection and Dolby Surround 5.1.
The cinema is furnished with the usual Everyman trademarks of luxurious settees and armchairs, with each screen being decorated in a different colour. Alongside the usual bar/lounge there is a restaurant which has on its menu a speciality burger named a ‘Spielburger’.

The Everyman is housed in the upper floors of a new, eye-catching building in a wonderful location by the river. I visited on 21st February 2017 to see “Manchester by the Sea”, starring Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams, and was made very welcome by the staff. Just a small correction to my Overview comments: the wonderfully named ‘Spielburger’ is one of the menu options, not the name of the bar/restaurant!
The sixth screen is also for general showings, not just private hire, so this should be listed as having 6 screens I think?
