Yale Theatre

Another one of the many neighborhood theaters in the densely populated South St. Louis. It was located around the block from the Melvin Theatre on Chippewa Street and three blocks east of the Melba Theatre on S. Grand Boulebard and Miami Street. The Yale Theatre was opened in 1911. It was surrounded by homes and two and four family flats, so it more or less had its built in audience. The Yale Theatre was closed December 1, 1946.

Until a few years ago, the building served as a church, but today sits vacant.
