The Big Barge Art Centre opened on 15th August 2009(on West Island, in the Cocos Keeling Islands) inside a barge carved from local wood. The Big Barge Art Centre sells local art works, and there also an art gallery, and an art studio. A movie was screened at the Big Barge Art Centre(outside) on 9th November 2014 about the Sydney Emden battle(100 years after the battle) somewhere in the Cocos Keelings Islands. No other movie screenings known?

The Barge was built in 1965. The Big Barge Art Centre is also a tourist centre.
