Opening and closing dates of Argylla Cinema unknown? The town of Mary Kathleen(a uranium mining town) was built and opened in(1955 or 1956?), about 6km from the uranium mine. The town was closed down late in 1982 after the uranium mine closed down(mined out), and most of the town buildings sold and removed.

The entire town was auctioned off, after the mine and town closed. The only remains now the roads and some concrete pads, now accessed from the Barkly Highway.
