The Opera House was opened by 1925 when on January 1, 1925 it screened its first motion picture Richard Dix in “Manhattan”. On May 5, 1925 Benjamin Pitts of Fredericksburg began screening his ‘Pitts’ Moving Pictures'. The Opera House remained a silent movie theatre until it closed on January 11, 1930.
Pitts then moved the projectors to the White Stone Theatre in White Stone, VA and that theatre became a talkie' theatre.
