The Ritz Theatre was opened on Main Street in 1927 and was designed by architect Raymond Sizemore. It suffered a fire on the afternoon of February 23, 1945. The manager Garnett Stancil remodeled and reopened the theatre on July 4, 1945. In August 1956 it was equipped with CinemaScope. It was still open in 1963.
