The New Drive-In closed in the mid-to-late 1970s. It was demolished to make way for the Kmart which operated from August 2, 1979 until December 2016. A Rural King now sits in the former Kmart and the former theater’s site.
The Kmart store number was #7174 and closed in December 2016.

The New Drive-In opened its gates on July 31, 1948 with Eddie Bracken on “Fun On A Weekend” and Hopalong Cassidy in “Fools Gold” along with a few unnamed short subjects.
