The Cottonwood III Cinemas opened on January 12, 1982 at the Cottonwood Plaza shopping center for BAC Theatres. Kerasotes Theatres took over the theatre on May 15, 1992 and operated it until its closing in 2008.
The theatre was demolished to make way for the neighboring Walmart’s remodeling into a Walmart Supercenter in 2012.

Opened On January 12, 1982.
Taken over by Kerasotes in May 1992.
The Cottonwood Cinema did receive a short closure in 1992 before reopening as a Kerasotes theater on May 15 of that same year. This was because of B-A-C getting purchased by Carmike and the management refused to operate the theater under the Carmike brand. Instead, it was Kerasotes who agreed to take over.
