Palace Theatre

Palace Theatre opened in 1923 in a hall behind the Palace Hotel. Unknown if the hall is operating or still there. The Palace Hotel was Heritage listed on 21st October 1992. The Palace Hotel later become the Childers Palace Backpackers Hostel(1980’s or 1990’s?) The Childers Palace Backpackers Hostel was set on fire on 23rd June 2000(the Palace Hotel and The Childers Palace Hostel Backpackers Fire both have own Wikipedia pages). The Childers Palace Backpackers Hostel was rebuilt. The ground floor is now a tourist bureau, and the top floor us Childers Palace Hostel Backpackers Fire Memorial.
