Hoyts Padua Theatre Brunswick Wins Theatre Drive.
Results of the annual theatre Inspection of Hoyts Suburban Theatres were announced today. 33 theatres competed, the champion 3 theatres being The Padua Theatre, Brunswick (Mr R. Potter, manager), with the Waratah Theatre, Ascot Vale (Mr B. Monahan, manager) second – The Regent Theatre, Gardiner (Mr E. Thacker, manager), third. –
Points were awarded for cleanliness, theatre advertising and style of presentation of entertainment – Eric Thacker went on to receive the H. Pryde lobby-board prize from (Mr. George Griffith) Hoyts Manager for Victoria, – By the time the late 50’s had arrived, Reg Potter was a Hoyts Supervisor and Eric Thacker became the legendary manager of The Regent Theatre South Yarra – PHOTO Lyle Fowler -
