PADUA THEATRE BRUNSWICK - Crying Room *
The first theater to utilize the idea is lost in history, but at the start in the 1930’s, many cinemas featured a sound-proof room, usually located in the back stalls. This allowed parents with children to watch films without disrupting the audience. These cry rooms usually seated more than a half dozen people. The crying room featured a large viewing window and a sound source. This became standard in many Australian theaters, and a God-send for many family’s. - Photo by Lyle fowler 1937 - Contributed by Greg Lynch -
