Beldorf Theatre

The Beldorf Opera House, later the Beldorf Theatre was a dedicated space in a three story brick commercial building erected 1906-1907. It was a venue for live performances and, subsequently movies. In 1927 other venues in the area were the Quality Theatre and the Best Theatre. The Quality Theatre closed in 1929.

Making the transition to talkies the Beldorf Theatre’s 1939 competition was the Best Theatre, Booth Theatre and Main Street Theatre.

The Beldorf Theatre was closed in 1956 by Manager, William Wagner, who had operated it since 1935, when he acquired the Booth Theatre. It was demolished in 1965.

It would appear that this theatre has been demolished, from the appearance of the low-rise building at that address.

Uploaded the image of a 1915 postcard of the, then, opera house, with the alternate spelling Bell-dorf.
