There was a Picture Gardens in Whatley Crescent(south side) one house block up(west) from the corner of 9th Avenue(next to some shops) showing movies from after end of World War I until finishing sometime in the 1920’s. The shops are still there, and until the mid-1990’s a sign was painted on the side wall(barely visible) showing where the Picture Gardens was until painted over.
