The Metropol Theater was opened on 29th January 1929 with 864 seats. It was designed in an Art Deco style by architects Toni Kleefisch and Jacob Stumpf. It was equipped with a 2 Manual theatre organ manufactured by M. Welte & Son. As well as films it also hosted stage shows.
Today the theatre is used for live shows and a small Metropol Film Theater has been built adjacent to it. The Welte organ was removed from the building in 2009 and was installed in the Siegfrieds Mechanischem Musikkabinett in Rudesheim.
