need to update this to demolished, only the ramps are left.
There is also a Instagram page for the Westview Drive-in.
Correction closed on 2nd April 2022.
The drive-in closed(permanently) on April 2 2922 with “Grease”. The drive-in has been sold(unknown who to?). The screen and other fittings have been sold. The speakers and speaker posts sand concrete bases were put up for sale on the Westview Drive-in Facebook page(n April 2022). The remaining unsold speaker posts and concrete bases were offered for people to pick in person(with your vehicle) for free(in May 2022). The marquee was sold too I think?
Tickets cost $40 per vehicle plus booking fee (this is not a per person charge) (max 7 per car)
They limit sessions to 250 cars and pre-sell tickets online only, you can’t buy them from the ticket box.

There is a video of the Westview Drive-in(done by the Dubbo Regional Council) on You Tube.
The movie screenings were for 3 days(not 5 days i think?) from 7/4/2017 to 9/4/2017.
Westview Drive-in reopened on 7/4/2017 for 5 days with different screenings each night, The opening night was “Willy Wonka and the chocalate factory(1971 version)” and “Top gun”. The second night was “Grease” and “Dirty dancing”. The third night was Nightmare on Elm Street". Other screenings unknown? Further movie screenings unknown?
The caravan park is called Westview Caravan Park.
I see what you mean about the sign! You can’t read the name Westview Drive-in any more! I hope the sign gets fixed, not replaced!
I think the drive-in is between a prison(youth?) and a caravan park(other side of Westside Street)?
It closed as a regular venue in ‘84, but opened on Friday and Saturday nights during the 85/86, 86/87 and 87/88 summers. I was the projectionist for the 86/87 summer. I recall us showing the likes of Ferris Bueller and Croc Dundee.
Now I notice that only the 2010 story used a hyphen in the name. The 2017 story agrees with the spelling here. And I left a typo. Oops!
The Dubbo Youth Council has arranged to reopen the West-View (according to the Daily Liberal newspaper) for a weekend in April 2017. The place is still for sale, and the sign looks even worst than the photo here. See http://www.dailyliberal.com.au/story/4391944/movies-to-return-to-dubbos-drive-in/ for the story, and http://www.dailyliberal.com.au/story/862369/return-of-the-drive-in/ for the way the sign looked in 2010.
