In the Midlothian town of Loanhead, at the junction of Clerk Street and Engine Road, the Picture House was listed in the 1927 Kinematograph Year Book, with Arthur Brodie as the proprietor and resident manager. The proscenium was 18ft wide; the stage was 14ft deep.
By 1953 the owner was Thomas B. Leishman.
The Picture House had closed by 1958.
By March 2009, when I visited, the building was a used car showroom. It has since been demolished. A car wash occupies the site.
