Allen Theatres opened the Animas 10 on December 8, 2006, inside the Animas Valley Mall.
The Animas 4 inside the mall, which opened in September 1982, and the Cameo Theatre on Broadway were closed. Russell Allen said, ”The theaters are outdated and limited in their entertainment potential.”
The Roswell Daily Record notes Allen Theatres was founded in 1912 with the Allen Opera House in Farmington. Russell Allen is the fourth generation of his family to run the company.
