Meionaon Hall opened in Kezar Falls around 1884. In the 1920’s and 1930’s, Roland Stanley presented movies there, as the Stanley Theatre. After 1940 it was renovated and renamed Playhouse. Movies lasted at the Playhouse until 1971. It then became a warehouse. In 2014 there was a meeting there to discuss future plans for the building. It has since reopened as a venue for concerts, a film school, lecture venue and occasional movies.

The Theatre Historical Society on-line archive has the MGM Theatre Report for the Stanley Theatre; it’s Card # 388. Address is Main St. There is an exterior photo taken March 6, 1941. Condition is Poor. The report says that the theater was remodeled in 1938, was showing MGM product, and had 300 seats. The 1940 population was 900. The name was changed to Playhouse after 1941.
This theater and playhouse is renovated and active in the community as a film school, concert venue, lecture venue, and occasional commercial movies (free). A wonderful renovation and now asset to the community. http://www.smoothfeather.com
