Opened in 1969 as Cinema 1 in the Del Norte shopping center, the theater was destroyed by fire on June 11, 1973.

Noret Theatres rebuilt and reopened as Cinema 1 & 2 on February 20, 1974. While operated by Allen Theatres since 1993, as the Del Norte Twin, it closed in March 2006 when the Galaxy 8 opened.
