The Liberty Theatre was opened in 1908. (In the book “Historic Theatres in Illinois 1883-1960” by Conrad Schiecke the Liberty Theatre is listed at 126 S. Halsted Street and in 2015 the building at that address is now a bar).
The Liberty Theatre was closed in 1913.

According to Q. David Bowers book “Nickelodeom Theatres and their Music” the ornamentation of the building was ordered from The Decorators Supply Company in Chicago and cost $450.
