“The Gaiety Theatre was built by Frank A. Fear in 1938. It was immediately popular with its luxury plush-covered seats, instead of the common folding chairs, a carpet, and a sloping floor. It also featured a popcorn machine. The theatre offered welcome entertainment to the isolated community, especially during the long winters. The Gaiety Theatre operated until the 1970’s, it was demolished in 1982.
