Photograph showing the Savoy at the end of WW2 May 1945 with all flags flying. Above the National Provincial Bank the Savoy restaurant is open and to the extreme right a delivery is being made through the public entrance off Chapel Street and just in view the menu board, although rationing still in place. Corner of restaurant below Union Jack flag pole can be seen ‘Savoy’ above the cinema film display board.
