Located on West Stand in the Market Place, Whitehaven, Cumbria. The Queens Cinema was built and opened in 1928 and replaced the towns only previous cinema, the Palace Cinema. It was equipped with a British Acoustic(BA) sound system in 1929. By 1948 it was owned by the Graves Cinema Ltd. chain, but was operated on lease to Branford’s Cinemas.
The Queens Cinema was closed around 1976/1977. It was demolished in 1983.
