Majestic Theater

The Rex Theater was opened prior to March 1908 when it was operated by Warren Catterlin. It had 6 shows a day. It was renamed Majestic Theater in 1909. It was destroyed by fire in 1927.

A new Majestic Theatre (which has its own page on Cinema Treasures) was built on the site which opened in 1928.

Am I correct in assuming that this was part of the Biograph pictures chain? Albert Bigelow Paine, in “Life and Lillian Gish” (New York, The Macmillan Company 1932, p. 66) refers to it as a “Biograph moving-picture palace”. I’ve seen other authors refer to it as a nickelodeon.
