This theatre opened in 1909 as the Majestic Theatre on S. Pearl Street, next door to the Fern Furniture Store. Around August 1929 it was renamed Empire Theatre. It was owned from 1930 to 1935 [under the Majestic Theatre name] by Schine Circuit Inc. Since 1935, until closing the owner was Fabian Theaters [under the State Theatre name].
In 2015 a pizza restaurant operates in the building.

Unless another Majestic Theatre existed in Albany, this one was known as the Empire Theatre in 1929.
