The Royal George Hotel was built on the north side of Stirling Terrace between York Street and Spencer Street. The Cremorne Gardens opened behind the hotel on 28th November 1896 with the entrance on Stirling Street. The Gardens was a live venue at first. The Gardens was part-roofed in 1897. Pictures started beening screened there in February 1906. The Cremorne Gardens stopped showing films after a fire damaged the gardens in 1910, and never returned to use as a motion picture venue. The Gardens may have been dmolished. The site is now a car park behind the hotel, and shops where the entrance was(?).
