The Broadway Theatre opened on 9/4/1927 with “The blackbird”.
The gardens site is now a Centrelink and Medicare building and carpark.
The inside of the theatre may have been gutted out when converted to offices(The Business Centre).The bench is visiable on the streetview photo(different angle).
There is a seat(bench) outside the building with a giant film reel with film inside it, some of it forming the top of the seat next to it to the left(and a plaque about it underneath the seat).
Correction – The Broadway Theatre building may have been converted into the current building(The Business Building(offices)) rather than been demolished?
There is a plaque on the footpath outside the Broken Hill hotel across the road(Harper street, same side of Albany highway) about the New Broadway Theatre(and Garden?) where there was a tram stop on the tram route from Perth to East Victoria Park and later Welshpool. there may still a map of the tram route available at the Victoria Park Public Library.
