Civic Theatre

Opened on 27/7/1938 with some shorts(number of shorts and names unknown?), “Stolen Heaven” and “A bride for Henry”. This theatre had the Australian premiere of the 1957 film “The Shiralee” which was filmed in the Scone district. Closed in 1983/1984(?) reopened in 1988 after minor renovations, closing again in 1992, and reopened the same year. Desingated a World heritage site on 21/3/2003.
