Located in the Woodlands section of Innaloo, to the northwest of Perth. The Innaloo Cinema opened on 13th December 1973 with “Bedroom Mazurka” and “The Perfumed Garden”. The name changed to Metro Cinema when taken over by Greater Union Cinema on 16th December 1990. The cinema is now called Event Cinemas(part of Greater Union).

The original cinema building is still there as a restaurant(originally called Hogs Breath(since closed)), now called Bollywood Restobar(Indian(India) food). The back part of the original cinema building, which may have been built around the first Metro Drive-in bio box( and snack bar?) may have been absorbed into the current cinema building or the restaurant? The original cinema building is between the current cinema building and the right hand entrance(old Metro Drive-in entrance).
The cinema building also has a restaurant(Sizzlers), a cafe(Han’s Cafe), and a gaming arcade(Timezone)!! There is a proposal to move the cinema complex to the nearby Innaloo Shopping Centre and(possibly demolish the cinema and built a supermarket(Audi?) and houses as well?)!?
The proposed supermarket is Aldi, not Audi.
The Sizzlers restaurant has closed down.
