New Queen's Cinema

Located in the Postsea Island district of Portsmouth, Hampshire close to the harbour. The Queen’s Cinema was opened in September 1914. It had a 60 feet wide proscenium (most likely a mis-print). In 1931 it was equipped with a British Thomson Houston(BTH) sound system and was re-named New Queen’s Cinema.

The New Queen’s Cinema suffered some damage during a German air raid on 10th January 1941. Repairs were made, and the New Queen’s Cinema was closed in 1949.
