The Palace Theatre dated from the silent era. A new house, the Rogersville Theatre, was opened in 1935 by the Nashville-based chain the Rockwood Amusement Company. Rockwood bought the Palace Theatre in 1938 and closed it, the last show being given on September 3, 1938.
