UPDATE: The Bedford Drive-In didn’t close for the final time after October 1971. The Bedford Drive-In reopened for the 1972 season as a family-oriented theater, and would remain like that into as late as the early-1980s. This came months after the management’s reports of patrons throwing corn in inappropriate places.
The Bedford Drive-In closed after the 1980 season, leaving the East 50th Drive-In the only drive-in left in Bedford. It was unknown why but one of those reasons that affect the closure was 20 speakers being vandalized.
The Bedford Drive-In Opened Its Gates On April 28th, 1949 With Blondie Knows Best. It Was Owned And Operated By Mr. And Mrs. J.S. Corbett.
However, The Bedford Contains A Couple Of Police Investigations Throughout The Years, Such As A Robbery In June 1962 And A Massive Attack With People Throwing Corn In An Inappropriate Area In October 1971 Just Before They Closed The Bedford Drive-In For Good Because Of That Investigation.
Update: The entrance road and screen are now Bedford First Assembly Church. Most of the drive in itself is now a residential neighborhood.
