Opened on June 9, 2006 as the Rio Grande Stadium 14. Frank Theatres opened the Rio Stadium 12 on January 18, 2007. The theatre was converted by JKR Partners architects from a former bookstore into auditoriums ranging from 90 to 165 seats. It was closed in 2019. By early-2023 it was listed on the Square Theatres website as the Cape Square Entertainment (closed). In May 2023 it was being renovated and it reopened on July 15, 2023 as an 8-screen theatre.

The opening date is June 9th, 2006. Grand opening ad posted.
Look at construction at Cape Square, this is from late 2022 - so they might be a bit further along at time posting.
