Markle Theatre

The Beatrice Daily Sun reported on May 12, 1920, that R.C (Robert) Markle was constructing a modern theatre, which Ray Small would manage. According to Film Daily, it opened on September 25. It was reported on April 7, 1929, that the Markle Theatre would be installing a Vitaphone sound system.

On August 25, 1930, the Daily Sun reported that Robert Markle would be closing the Markle Theatre and combining it with the Lyric Theatre. The Lyric Theatre was said to be more centrally located in the business district. In August of 1931, the Daily Sun referred to it as the former Markle Theatre, which would be turned into a sales pavilion for livestock.

The Film Daily Year Book of 1930 listed the Markle Theatre with 500 seats.
