Movie Tavern by Marcus Willowbrook

The 10-screen Movie Tavern Willowbrook opened on October 19, 2007, as their 11th location and third in the Houston area. Movie Tavern spent $5.5 million renovating the former Home Depot that it shares with iT’Z entertainment center.

The Movie Tavern has gourmet cuisine, a full bar, Breakfast and a Flick every Saturday and Sunday morning, and facilities for private parties.

At the end of 2014 Movie Tavern had 19 locations in nine states. On February 1, 2019 it was taken over by Marcus Theatres. It had closed by summer of 2024.

This theatre was included in Marcus Theatres purchase of Movie Tavern and as such as of February 1, 2019 is now operated by Marcus Theatres. This theatre is now “Movie Tavern by Marcus Willowbrook” and all relevant information is now on the Marcus Theatres website, www.marcustheatres.com.

The theater opened October 19, 2007. Movie Tavern was purchased by Southern Theatres in 2013, and then by Marcus Theatres in 2019. It closed due to the pandemic in March 2020 and never reopened.
