Liberty Theatre

Opened as the Lyric Theatre in 1907 and was renamed the Pearl Theatre in 1910 and finally the Liberty Theatre in 1919.

The Liberty Theatre closed in December of 1925 and the Hutchinson News reported in December of 1930 that the former theatre was being remodeled into a store The Film Daily Year Book of 1928 listed the Liberty Theatre with 300 seats.

The location today would be the site of the First National Bank.

The Liberty building was very old, being built sometime before 1884. It was a two story brick building. The 1905 map shows it as a grocery store. The building survived at least until 1950, when the First National bank was located in what was surely a much more attractive 1912 5 story building on the corner.
